Where the figure comes from
The Ministry of Inclusion sets the threshold at a monthly amount equal to 200% of the Spanish minimum wage (SMI). Royal Decree 126/2026 fixes the 2026 SMI at €1,221 per month in 14 payments — €17,094 a year. Twice that is €34,188 a year.

| + 2 family members | +25% | €51,282 |
| + 3 family members | +25% | €55,555.50 |
How to prove it
- Payslips or invoices from the relationship you apply with, and bank statements that match them.
- The employment or commercial contract that generates the income.
- Consulates often ask for six months of statements and payslips; savings and investments can support solvency, but the requirement refers to income from work.
- All documents must show that the funds are yours, legal and available.
